Since eternity, a dog has been a friend to man. Being a domestic animal, this dog is kept either for security or as a pet. A toy dog breed, with the profound name Shih Tzu Cachorro which means little lion pronounced as Sheed Zoo. Traditionally this breed was kept for security reasons; to protect palaces and temples. The modern Shih Tzu are the dog breeds kept as a pet. Also known as Chrysanthemum Dog, this breed, whose exact origin, remains unidentified weighs approximately 4.5-8.6 kilograms on full maturity. However, most have tried to trace their origin from Tibet and are said to have been established in China. Cachorro Shih Tzu traces its genetic origin from a wolf.
Cachorro Shih Tzu likes to make friends and his companions include children, animals, adults and even your guests once they come to your house. With this major characteristic, it is not expected to hunt, retrieve or even guard. The dog will demand attention everywhere he goes. Cachorro Shih Tzu are dogs kept indoors. However, they need to be taken outside for exercise, preferably in the morning and evening. Cachorro Shih Tzu has a long double coat, and their hairs grow so fast that they require regular trimming, which is costly. Cachorro Shih Tzu should be washed regularly and, surprisingly this kind of breed is sensitive for both cold and hot places thus recommended to remain in air conditioned rooms. They are of different skin pigmentations ranging from golden, brown, black and most commonly white with sheds of gray.
To prevent tangling of the Cachorro Shih Tzu’s fur, they should regularly be brushed since the fur brushes the floor. To maintain their original body shape, the coat should remain in its natural state except around the feet and anus which are regularly trimmed for cleanliness and breeding purposes.
Cachorro Shih Tzu has exceptional qualities such as: affectionate, alert, loyal and outgoing. However, it is prone to stubbornness when it comes to training. Hence training should start at a very tender age so as to accommodate to obeying commands. Careful watching should be done to clean its feces to prevent it from eating. It is adapted to majorly city houses than upcountry. Its kennel should be inside the house though it likes a little play in the backyard.
Several health issues have been discovered to affect Shih Tzu. Among these issues include intervertebral disc disease in which the sense of deep pain disappears. The symptoms appear through severe pains at the back, eye problems which occur at different ages. However, majority occur at old age with eye irritations, allergy or cataracts that will eventually lead to blindness and other respiratory problems.
Shih Tzu should consume half or a cup of dry but high-quality meal depending on the age, size and the daily exercise. Research says the Shih Tzu has a lifespan of 13 years and two months. However, a majority of them live for between 10-16 years. Their life expectancy is more or less the same as their larger breed, The Shih Tzu.
